Information about accessing school online services and software

This page contains information for accessing online systems and IT services for students. This includes the use of Office 365.

Student Support

Network passwords Please come to the IT Office if you have forgotten your network password

Office 365 / Teams This can be accessed inside and outside of school at If your password doesn’t work then please use the ‘forgotten password?’ link. If that doesn’t work then please come to the IT Office for help.

Student Shared and Student Media areas can be accessed via RM Portico. All students are able to access their documents and the StuShare & StuMedia areas from home using Portico. This means that your files are only a click away and can be accessed on any device that it is internet enabled.

Office 365

BSG students and staff can now benefit from up to 5 free downloads of Microsoft Office 365 Apps.

You are now able to download and install on your home computer Microsoft Office 365 Apps at no cost. This includes all the familiar Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive etc. Whilst attending BSG you are entitled to locally install Office 365 Apps on up to five devices (PC, Mac, Android and iOS).

You may install this software on up to five devices
You are subject to the terms and conditions specified on the download pages & this document
Your entitlement to install & use this software is limited to your time at BSG as a full-time student or member of staff, and subject to the school continuing to license its software via the Microsoft Enrolment for Education Scheme / use of the Office 365 for Education systems
Neither BSG nor Microsoft will accept any claim for loss or damage as a result of you installing this software on your home computers; you do so entirely at your own risk
BSG IT Staff are not able to assist you with either installation or fault finding beyond the provision of this webpage. We cannot work on your home PC’s, Laptops, or other mobile devices
Any attempt to transfer copies of this software or the privileges associated with your school network account to anyone other than you will result in your account being suspended and disciplinary action will be taken. (THIS IS YOUR NETWORK ACCOUNT SO DON’T SHARE IT!)


Installation Instructions

RM Portico

Though we are now recommending that students access and save their school files on their OneDrive (Office 365) Account. Students can access files stored on their school area or student shared area from home.

All students are now able to access their My Documents and the Student Shared Area from home using RM Portico. This means that your files are only a click away and can be accessed on any device that it is internet enabled.

We would urge students to download and read through the following user documentation before use as there are some restrictions in place to protect the school network and your own data. We hope this will prove an invaluable aid to your studies.
