Want to Appeal?
If you wish to appeal a decision made, we will be holding an appeals day on 28th August 2025 at BSG. By 26th August at 3:00PM. The minimum entry requirement for BSG Sixth Form is six Grade 6s at GCSE (however maths and English GCSE must be at least Grade 4).
You must select:
– A minimum of 3 A Level courses.
– You are recommended to only study three A levels, however our Scholars’ Pathway enables students to select 4 full A Level choices if their average point score is Grade 8 or above (other factors will also be taken into consideration and you will be invited to a Sixth Form Guidance meeting to ensure this is the right pathway for you.
– You may choose EPQ, CREST Award or Core Maths in addition to the 3 full A Levels as part of the Elective Pathway.
– Further Maths counts as two full A levels and to select this you must have a third AND fourth choice.
BSG Sixth Form Registration Afternoon (GCSE Results Day)
Results of actual GCSEs may change a student’s view on what courses they want to take in the Sixth Form. Students will get the opportunity to come in after their results to make these changes if they have met the entry requirements, this is alongside confirming registration in person on the results day in the summer.
Oversubscription
Students who apply to our sixth form and are expected to achieve the required entry requirements will be given a conditional offer of a place to study from September 2026. However, we will always offer more places than are available (as there are always students who choose to not study with us after applying). In the event of oversubscription of the Sixth Form or individual courses post results day 2026, places will be allocated based on our admissions policy ranking, please see it for further details. Therefore there is a chance even with a conditional offer, students may not be allocated a place on a specific course, or the sixth form at all if they are of lower ranking.
All detailed information about our courses is on our website. Please use this website and discussions with teachers about what courses you may want to do and may need to do to progress in your chosen career path.
