On Monday 16th January BSG hosted the local ‘scrimmage’ for the Southwest Region for FIRST TECH CHALLENGE robotics competition.

We had teams from local schools join us with over 70 students working on their robots and game strategy for the upcoming regional finals in March.

It was a fantastic day which was made even better with a visit from Colonel Anders-Brown and his team with their Boston Dynamic Quadruped Robot. Our Year 7s got an additional talk from the Colonel, where he explained how it worked and how robotics is changing military use of technology. In total we had nearly 200 young people involved with Robotics and STEM activities on the day, helping inspire the next generation.
Thanks to all involved. For more information on BSG’s new robotics club go to www.wearebsg.uk/robotics . We are #morethanrobotsuk.
